Frequently Asked Questions

How soon should I place my order? The answer is always "As soon as possible!" Holiday & summertime dates book up quickly, so the more notice the better. A MINIMUM of 1 week's notice is required for party cakes & at least 3 months is recommended for wedding cakes.

Where are you located? I'm a home baker located in Munroe Falls, Ohio. Once an order is placed, I will email with directions for pickup or to coordinate delivery. Delivery is limited to a 25 mile radius from Stow/Munroe Falls.

Do you offer tastings? For events with 100 guests or more, a tasting & consultation can be arranged. Flavor choices will depend on what is available that week, although special requests are considered. For events under 100 guests, orders can be placed via email or phone.

Can you accomodate special dietary requirements? I do have dairy-free, sugar-free & vegan options available. I am not able to offer completely gluten free, as a separate gluten-free facility & equipment is required to prevent cross-contamination. I can make gluten-sensitive recipes, however. (If you are looking for gluten free products, I highly recommend Holly Phillips of Sweet P's Custom Cakes in Stow.) Also, I can make cakes & cookies without nut ingredients, however, I do occasionally use nuts in my kitchen, so cross-contamination is always possible.

Do you require a deposit? For party cakes a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to place your order. The remainder is due upon pickup or delivery. For weddings, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date. The remainder is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

What forms of payment do you accept? Cash, check, major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express), Venmo & PayPal

Venmo: @SweetTreatsByJenV

Paypal: jvest872@gmail.com

What if I need to cancel my order? If you need to reschedule, it is no problem to transfer your deposit to an order on a future date. If you need to cancel outright, the deposit is non-refundable.

How much cake do I need? A slice of cake or a standard-sized cupcake or cookie is sufficient for each guest. For mini cupcakes & cookies, I recommend 2-3 per guest. See my serving chart for information on the number of servings each cake size provides.

Will my cake hold up if my event is outdoors? Outdoor parties & weddings can be lovely, but I cannot stress enough the importance of having your cake INDOORS, especially during warm weather. Heat is not the only concern - bugs love frosting & the last thing you want to do is serve cake with bugs in it. (Yuck!) If you want to have your cake set up outdoors, I will do it, but you must sign a waiver assuming liability for the cake.

Liability - Once the order is received by the customer, I no longer take any responsibility for it. Damage due to travel, weather conditions, etc. are the sole responsibility of the customer.  Proper handling instructions will be given upon pickup or delivery.  Failure to follow these instructions will not result in a refund of any kind.  Refunds are given by my sole discretion & will not be given in any circumstance without the order being returned to me within 24 hours of receipt.
